Many competitors who have exhibited under the West Coast Footings' preparation have then contacted John and the WCF team to help with their own arenas at home. Issues like proper drainage, harrowing and use of water are all key elements which are addressed by West Coast Footings for their on site consultations. The company supplies both harrows for maintaining arenas and watering wagons as an alternative to in-ground sprinklers. The “Water On Wheels” watering wagons are recommended for facilities, ranches and training operations because of their versatility. They can be utilized for much more than arena watering such as grading and dust prevention on facility roads, for landscape maintenance, for livestock watering and when water is needed remote access areas. It is also an invaluable tool for emergencies, when a supply of water can be on hand to fight fires or provide emergency water to animals. Each watering wagon is customized to the client facility's specific needs.

An expert in his industry, John is constantly testing new ideas for arena groomers. He has re-designed a harrow for the geo-textile fabric footings that has a pivot point hitch and wire roller. This makes a more effective “drag” for this specific type of footing. John is constantly looking for ways to improve arena maintenance habits as well as the arena equipment. He has recommended changes for the spray caps used on watering trucks that will promote a more even distribution of water, hence keeping the footing much more consistent. For their clients with both large and small scale operations, John is available to offer his advice on arena maintenance which will protect their investment…in both the arena itself and the horses which work in it, too!
