We are adding this page in an effort to support all those horses in our community that could use assistance. You will find rescue facilities, individuals & organizations who continue to look out for the well being of wayward horses in our community. Many of these organizations are in need of placement homes, feed & essential care items for these abandoned & misplaced horses.
Please check this page often as we will have frequent additions in an effort to help connect these organizations & individuals with those able to assist.

| By default of the owner, we have become possessors of three Polish Arabs, two geldings and one stallion. All are about six to eight years of age and in good condition, they have been boarded on my property and have been well cared for by me for the past year. However, I can't go on supplying board and care without any reimbursement or even a thank you from the owner. Please contact me for more information, Jim for more information 818 247-6925 12/29/09 |

My mare went lame a few months ago, and I am looking to give her away as a broodmare to a forever home. She is of superior breeding, Dutch Warmblood (Vasco x Carla, shares a sire with Kilkenny Jasco), and was imported from Holland when she was 6. I've shown her up to the Jr./Mod. Jumpers and she could have gone much farther with the right rider. She's a tall big boned 16.3 hand black mare with super conformation and temperament. Mona is 13 and has never had a baby, but the vet recently checked her out and said there should be no problem with her conceiving and carrying. I've had this mare for 7 years, but can't afford the extensive vet work to figure out what's wrong with her. I feel she would make a wonderful mother; Mona has a very nurturing nature. Please let me know if you would like more information or would be interested in giving her a forever home. Only SUPERIOR homes will be considered, and I would like to be able to visit her as I please. Contact Stephanie by Email at

Dear Friends of Lifesavers Wild Horse Rescue,
The Bureau of Land Management have plans to remove an additional 12,000 wild horses from our public lands over the next year. They have already zeroed out many herds and even reduced famous "Cloud"s herd to an unviable number. There aren't enough homes for more wild horses, there isn't even enough homes for the ones already in the corrals!
Unwanted unadoptable horses end up at the slaughter houses time and time again. Don't let this be the end for our wild horses!
Please visit the following link to reveiw our October appeal for action and support.

Thank you for your care and support. We depend on you.
Kind regards,
Jill Starr

As someone already posted, this difficult economic climate is wreaking havoc on animals who are being displaced as their owners can no longer afford to care for them. Return to Freedom, American Wild Horse Sanctuary, is getting calls and emails every day about animals in need of a new home. While we are over capacity with 200 permanent residents at our sanctuary, we are doing our best to help these animals find a good home. Please take a moment and review our "Orphaned Animals" blog which has photos and descriptions of dogs, horses and other 4 leggeds that need a home. If you cannot provide a home at this time, perhaps you can help our by spreading the word to the animal lovers in your life. Contact Jill Anderson by Email. 2/12/09 |

The PEGASUS RISING Project
A project of Congressional District Programs, a 501(c)(3) non-profit public charity
and a part of the National Heritage Family |
Dear Friends,
At this time we need volunteers to help with morning and evening horse feeding/care and facility cleanup at our Valley Center Farm. With 2 shifts per day, there are 28 shifts per week, each shift is about 60-90 minutes. We try to have 2 people each session, so the physical work is minimized and the fun is maximized!
The Pegasus Rising Project has strict guidelines that will need to be followed when interacting with this herd due to the special nature of their future to assist in human healing. Volunteers go through a brief orientation and interview before starting work. We are looking for serious volunteers that are willing to commit to a minimum of 1 session per week.
We are getting many requests for children under age 18 to participate in this worthy endeavor. At this time however, we are unable to accommodate minors.
If you are still interested in participating, please call me to schedule a time when we can meet at the property and I can go over the routine with you.
Also, please send your friends to www.PegasusRising.org for much needed donations as we have huge vet and feed bills to heal these horses. If everyone who has ever loved an animal would donate $5, these horses would be on their way to health and helping to heal people. |
| Thank You~
